2. River Classification Literature Review

Dig into literature on classification or rivers and streams at reach scale. I. The purpose of this assignment is for you to take a critical look at River Styles and other classification schemes (e.g. Rosgen, as well as Montgomery & Buffington and others) and form your own opinions about the relative strengths and weaknesses.

• Prepare an essay (2500 word max) comparing and contrasting different approaches to River Styles framework.
• Focus on strengths and weaknesses of each approach.
• Objectively compare the different approaches, but don’t feel obligated to champion any single approach. Develop your own narrative and arguments.
• You DO NOT need to write this review with any specificity towards your study stites.
