Research

Adan is interested in bioregional planning and the relationships that are shared between urban and natural systems. His interests are centered on creating sustainable systems using geospatial technology so as to better implement sustainable practices in urban settings. Adan is also interested in how geomorphic and hydrologic processes shape riverine landscapes; and how geospatial analyses can help better understand the impact of climate change on terrestrial and aquatic (riverine) systems. To be more well rounded, he is currently working on earning a Drone Pilot’s License to be able to obtain sub-meter aerial imagery.

Bio

Adan Banda, is a GIS technician for the ET-AL at Utah State University. He has worked for the Utah Conservation Corps in the Bryce Canyon National Park offices assisting with the GPS/GIS data management for herbicide regimens prescribed throughout the park. He has also worked as a lab assistant at USU assisting in the research of the diversity-productivity relationship. Adan will be graduating in the Fall of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Geography with an emphasis in Geographical Analysis. He also hopes to pursue his M.S. in Bioregional Planning beginning in the spring of 2018. In his free time he enjoys hiking, backpacking, working-out, and biking.
